❗️Important - Complete step 2
Ensure that the spindle bottoms out in the Door Handle before pressing down the pin. When the pin is pressed down, the spindle must be fixed in the Door Handle; otherwise, the installation is incorrect. An incorrect installation may result in the Door Handle not “engaging” and the door not being able to open.
💡 Tip - Choice of lock case
When choosing a lock case, the recommendation is to select one where the latch can be retracted both via the handle and a physical key.
Start by testing and ensuring the correct length of the spindle.
Usually, the Door Handle’s spindle is shorter than those used for fully mechanical handles.
Insert the spindle all the way into the Door Handle until it bottoms out. Press the pin all the way down onto the spindle using pliers to fix the spindle in the Door Handle.
Mount the Door Handle onto the door like a traditional door handle.
Screw in, not out, the locking screw on the back of the housing using the included Allen key.
Remove the housing and insert the battery. It is important that the battery is inserted after the Door Handle has been mounted on the door.
Replace the housing and tighten the locking screw.
Continue the installation by adding the device via the “Add lock” function in the Parakey app or web portal, and complete the installation by pressing the device from the “Unlock” view.
