Change to another type of Parakey device (different hardware)

If you’re replacing one Parakey device with another type of hardware (for example, from PDL to Door Handle), you can’t use the “Replace hardware” function. Follow these steps to replace it manually and update the keys properly.

Requirements

  • You must have the role Owner, Administrator or Installer at the place where the replacement’s performed.

How to proceed

  1. Go to the lock that’s being replaced and add something like “(to be replaced)” at the end of its name.

  2. Add the new lock and give it the same name as the one being replaced — but without the “(to be replaced)” suffix.

  3. Update the keys that include the old lock by doing the following:

    1. Go to Keys and press Filter.

    2. Filter on the lock that’s being replaced.

    3. Select all keys (that can unlock the lock being replaced) and press Add lock.

    4. Choose the new lock to add to these keys and press Save.

❗️If multiple locks are to be replaced, note that this must be done for each lock.
