PDL lock does not appear in the app

Follow these steps in order - each individual step may solve the issue;

  1. Make sure you have permission to the lock (i.e., that you have a key); otherwise the lock will not be shown in the Parakey app.

  2. Move the handle up or down 15 times within 8–15 seconds to reboot the lock. Ensure the handle reaches the horizontal position between movements.


  3. Remove the battery and keep it out for more than 10 seconds, then reinsert it.

  4. If the problem persists, please contact Parakey Support at [email protected] or via the chat icon (bottom-right).

App shows the PDL lock as unlocked but it remains locked

The most common reason is that the hook bolt (see image below) is not fully retracted. This may happen if the door is misaligned or the hook bolt rubs against the strike plate.

Start by “pushing” the door closed firmly, then follow these steps in order;

  1. Update the lock’s firmware (see link) to ensure the lock has the latest version and the Forced unlock feature;

    1. "Forced unlock" activates automatically if you try to unlock the same door twice within 30 seconds and the first attempt failed.

    2. Do you need to use Forced unlock repeatedly to open the door?

      1. Action; Contact the installer and ask them to check whether the hook bolt is catching on the strike plate or frame and correct the installation if needed.

  2. If the problem persists, contact [email protected] or use the chat icon (bottom-right).

Cannot lock / Handle does not “disengage” when locking

Follow these steps in order to recalibrate the lock;

    1. Ensure the lock is recalibrated (initialized).

  1. If the lock already has the latest update:

    1. Keep the door slightly open and retract the hook bolt (i.e., unlock the lock).

    2. Unscrew the battery cover, remove the battery, and wait 20 seconds.

    3. Reinsert the battery. Press and hold the red button while screwing the battery cover back on. The motor in the lock case will buzz.

    4. Done!
