What is Two-Factor Authentication?
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is a security method that requires two separate ways to verify your identity before accessing an account or service. In the Parakey Web Portal, this means entering both your password and a one-time code generated by an authenticator app, such as Google Authenticator. This increases the security of your account and reduces the risk of unauthorized access.
💡 Note: 2FA can only be enabled for login to the Parakey Web Portal. In the Parakey app, you log in using your email address and chosen password.
How to enable 2FA in the Parakey Web Portal:
Press your name in the top right corner.
Then press Account settings.
Under Security, next to Two-Factor Authentication, press Turn on.
Install an authenticator app on your phone if you haven’t already.
Open the authenticator app and scan the QR code displayed.
A six-digit code will appear in the app. Enter this code in the portal.
💡The code is valid for a limited time only.
Press Turn on.
❗️If you're changing phones
Two-Factor Authentication is tied to your phone. If you're getting a new one, you must transfer 2FA by first logging in with your old phone. 👉 Learn how to transfer 2FA (link).
