Through an integration between Nexudus and Parakey, your key management is put on complete autopilot. When booking a room, resource, or purchasing a pass*, the user automatically receives a mobile key.

*E.g., day pass or monthly pass.

Requirements

3 ways for users to unlock

When you connect Nexudus with Parakey, you choose which app users will use to unlock. There are three options:

  1. The Parakey app. Bookings are made in Nexudus, but users are added as Parakey users at the time of booking and can then use the Parakey app to unlock.

  2. Your own app from Nexudus. If you have a so-called white label app from Nexudus, you can choose for users to unlock with that. In this case, users cannot unlock with the Parakey app.

  3. Both apps. It is also possible to let users choose whether they want to unlock with the Parakey app or your own app. In this case, the users are counted both as Parakey users and as external users in Parakey, which means that you need to double the number of users in your license.

See more on how to configure this in the instructions below.

In Parakey Web Portal

  1. Follow steps 1-4 in the article on how to specify which keys integrations have access to manage.

  2. Then go to Settings and press Integrations.

  3. Under Native Integrations, press Add.

  4. Select Nexudus.

  5. Choose which app users should use to unlock:

    1. The Parakey app

    2. Your own app from Nexudus. In that case, select Nexudus app.

    3. Both. In that case, select Nexudus app and enable the option Also add Nexudus users as Parakey users.

❗️If you choose option (b) or (c), you need to activate Access control in Nexudus, see below.

  6. A new box appears with the Access Token needed to complete the connection in Nexudus Dashboard. Copy the following values to the corresponding fields in Nexudus (see below) and then press Done.

    1. Name: Parakey

    2. Webhook URL: https://api.parakey.co/integrations/native/nexudus/webhook

    3. Webhook Bearer: <Access Token>

    4. Access groups API endpoint: https://api.parakey.co/integrations/native/nexudus/accesses

    5. Access groups API Access Token: <Access Token>

❗️Complete the connection in Nexudus before closing this box.

In Nexudus

  1. In Nexudus, go to Settings (the gear icon).

  2. Then press Show advanced settings on the right.

  3. Select Integrations from the list.

  4. Press Custom ACS (Access Control System).

  5. Turn on Enable Custom ACS integration.

  6. Paste the information generated in the Parakey Web Portal into the corresponding fields (step 5 in the section above) and then press Save.

  7. Further down on the same page, you can now link your Nexudus resources* (rooms or passes) with keys in Parakey. Finally, press Save.

    *Created separately in Nexudus

❗️Ensure that you add keys without time restrictions in Nexudus. The keys must not have a start or end date.

❗️The integration only applies to new bookings made after the integration has been activated. If you have existing users or bookings, we recommend contacting Nexudus for further instructions on how to transfer these.

Activate Access control if users should unlock via a Nexudus app

Make this setting if you have chosen in Parakey that users should unlock with your own app from Nexudus (or both that app and the Parakey app).

  1. Go to Settings and press Show advanced settings.

  2. Then press Companion apps.

  3. Go to the Passport tab.

  4. Under Home Page, activate Access control.
